Industrial CFC 3D printing in Brescia, Italy
CFC 3D printing (Continuous Fiber Fabrication) lays continuous carbon fiber strands inside a thermoplastic matrix, co-extruded with the matrix itself. The result is components with a tensile strength of up to 900 MPa and a specific stiffness comparable to aluminum, ideal for industrial tooling, structural brackets and components under significant loads.
Max build volume
300 × 300 × 300 mm
Tensile strength
up to 900 MPa (with CCF)
Minimum feature
0.8 mm
Matrix
Nylon (PA), PETG, PLA
Reinforcement
Co-extruded continuous carbon fiber (CCF)
How CFC 3D printing works
- The continuous carbon fiber unwinds from the spool;
- It enters the print head together with the thermoplastic matrix and is co-extruded in the same bead;
- The path is programmed layer by layer: rings around the holes and runs along the load lines, inside the infill.
The fiber goes where the load goes: brackets, fixtures and end effectors with stiffness and strength close to those of aluminum.
Key strengths
- Tensile strength up to 900 MPa with continuous carbon fiber
- Specific stiffness comparable to aluminum at ~50% lower density
- Available matrices: nylon (PA), PETG and PLA reinforced with CCF
- Metal replacement: brackets, jigs, clamps, robotic grippers
- No corrosion and no need for surface treatments
Typical applications
- Structural industrial tooling (jigs, clamps, robotic grippers)
- Replacement of aluminum components under low to medium loads
- End effectors for collaborative and articulated robots
- Mounting brackets for industrial machinery
- Non-flight aerospace and motorsport components
